Chapter History

The Capital Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association (the "Capital Area Chapter") is a 503(c)(3) tax-exempt organization organized and existing under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Founded in 1908, the Capital Area Chapter is the local affiliate of the Penn State Alumni Association and represents the interests of Penn State alumni and supporters who reside in or around Cumberland and Dauphin counties.  The Capital Area Chapter is governed by its Board of Directors, who annually select four of its members to serve as officers for the Capital Area Chapter.
 
Chapter Purpose

The Capital Area Chapter is a non-profit organization centered on the ideals that embody Penn State -- namely, charity, integrity, and success with honor. To that end, the Capital Area Chapter regularly holds fundraisers for its scholarship fund and Penn State-related charities, such as Four Diamonds and Uplifting Athletes. The Capital Area Chapter is also a proud partner of the Penn State Harrisburg campus and its alumni society.

 

Board Meetings 

The Board of Directors of the Capital Area Chapter (the "Board") typically meet at the Penn State Harrisburg campus on the second Thursday of every month.  Except as otherwise provided, Board meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in the Quiet Study room in the Capital Union BuildingPlease check the Events Calendar for the latest information on Board meetings.
